Living History Program @ Pearl Public Library (Pearl, MS) a Success
Conversations LIVE host/Conversations Book Club President Cyrus Webb thanks the Pearl Public Library in Pearl, MS for welcoming author Darlene Collier to share her story during the Living History program held on Thurs. Feb. 27th as part of their Black History/Our History activities.
Collier shared not just what it was like to grow up in segregated Mississippi as well as contrasted it from where we are as a state and nation today. She also discussed how she was able to endure an abusive marriage and found the courage to forgive and move on.
Her book MARRIED TO SIN was the basis for the discussion, and those in attendance were able to ask questions afterwards.
A special thanks to Ms. Shirley Dennis and Eleanor Jones of the Pearl Public Library for their unwavering support of projects encouraging literacy and discussion.
